CANADA DRY TRI-CITY BOTTLING COMPANY

On January 10, 1950 Canada Dry Tri-City Bottling Company Inc. was incorporated, with Fred E. Reuning as President, Sara L. Reuning as Vice President, and John L. Bedish as Secretary Treasurer.(1) The bottling company was located on Blountville Highway in Bristol, TN. The company changed its name to the Canada Dry Bottling Company on January 3, 1951.(2) I’m guessing this is due to the objections of Tri-City Beverage of Johnson City, Tennessee. Samuel W. Williams joins the company as Advertising Manager in 1955.(1) It appears that Dixie Coca Cola has purchased the company by January 26, 1957 when Canada Dry of Bristol Inc. was incorporated under Leonard R. Hall, Ralph H. Brumet, and Yvonne D. Miller listed.(2)

The company's offices are moved to Dixie Coca Cola's State Street location by 1959, Samuel W. Williams becomes manager of the bottling plant which is still located at 555 Blountville Highway in Bristol, TN.(1) After sending a Statement of intent to Dissolve on April 29, 1974, the company sent the Articles of Dissolution which ended the twenty four year run of this company.(2) At the time of dissolution Allen C. Clark is President/Treasurer, Jack G. Bond is Vice President.(2) It appears that the Dissolution ended up closing the bottling plant on Blountville Turnpike, but Canada Dry of Bristol, Incorporated is still listed at the Dixie Coca-Cola Bottling Company address until 1976.(1)

This building was once the Canada Dry bottling plant, it has since been remodeled for a health facility.
